بُني في جبل المريا في بيدر أرنان أو أرونة (Built on Mount Moriah on the threshing-floor of Ornan or Araunah)
محاط بثلاث طبقات من الغرفات، مدخلها من جانبه الأيمن (Surrounded with three stories of chambers communicating with the interior on the right side)
محاط بديار واسعة (Surrounded with spacious courts)
طوله ستون ذراعا وعرضه عشرون وسمكه ثلاثون (Was three score cubits longs, twenty broad, and thirty high)

وعد الله أن يسكن فيه (God promised to dwell in)
جميع الأقداس موضوعة فيه (All dedicated things placed in)
أُصعد إليه تابوت الله بجلال عظيم (The ark of God brought into with great solemnity)
امتلأت بسحاب المجد (Filled with the cloud of glory)
دشّنه سليمان لله بجلال (Solemnly dedicated to God by Solomon)
نَارٌ مُقَدَّسَةٌ نَزَلَتْ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاءِ عِنْدَ تَدْشِينِهِ (Sacred fire sent down from heaven at its dedication)
لم يكن إلا هيكلا من مصنوعات الأيادي (Was but a temple built with hands)
الخراب التام، متنبأ به (Complete destruction of, predicted)

كان في قلبه أن يبنيه (Anxious to build)
لكونه رجل حرب لم يُؤذن له أن يبنيه (Being a man of war not permitted to build)
قال له النبي إن سليمان هو يبنيه (Told by the prophet that Solomon should build)
هيّأ لبنائه (Made preparations for building)
أوصى سليمان أن يبنيه (Charged Solomon to build)
صلّى أن يُعطى سليمان حكمة ليبنيه (Prayed that Solomon might have wisdom to build)
أمر رؤساءه أن يساعدوا في البناء (Charged his princes to assist in building)
تبرع الشعب للبناء (Free will offering of the people for the building)

استخدم جميع الأجنبيين في الإعداد له (Employed all the strangers in preparing for)
طلب من حيرام رجلا ماهرا يشرف على بنائه، إلخ (Applied to Hiram for a skilful workman to superintend, &c the building of)
سخّر ثلاثين ألفا من إسرائيل في العمل (Employed thirty thousand Israelites in the work)
تعاقد مع حيرام على الخشب والحجارة والعمل (Contracted with Hiram for wood, stone, and labour)
شُرع فيه في ثاني الشهر الثاني من السنة الرابعة لسليمان (Commenced second day of second month of fourth year of Solomon)
بُني بلا صوت منحت ولا معول ولا أداة (Built without the noise of hammers, axe, or any tool)

المحراب أو قدس الأقداس (THE ORACLE OR MOST HOLY PLACE)
عشرون ذراعا طولا وعرضا وسمكا (Was twenty cubits every way)
كروبان من خشب الزيتون المذهّب في داخله (Two cherubims of gilded olive wood made within)
حاجز من سلاسل ذهب بينه وبين البيت الخارجي (A partition of chains of gold between it and outer house)
مصاريعه وقوائمه من خشب الزيتون منقوشة ومذهّبة (The doors and the posts of, of olive wood carved and gilded)
مفصول عن البيت الخارجي بحجاب (Separated from the outer house by a vail)
