ٱلْمُحْرَقَة (BURNT OFFERING, THE)

لا تُقدَّم إلا للرب (To be offered only to the Lord)

مقبولة بصفة خاصة (Specially acceptable)

أقدم الذبائح جميعًا (The most ancient of all sacrifices)

قدّمها اليهود قبل الشريعة (Offered by the Jews before the law)

كانت كفارة عن الخطية (Was an atonement for sin)

تُنقل الذنوب إليها بوضع الأيدي (Guilt transferred to, by imposition of hands)

دمها يُرش حول المذبح (Blood of, sprinkled round about upon the altar)

إذا كانت طائرًا يُعصر دمها على جانب المذبح (If a bird, the blood was wrung out at the side of the altar)

رمادها يُجمع عند أسفل المذبح ويُنقل خارج المحلة (Ashes of, collected at foot of the altar, and conveyed without the camp)

جلدها يُعطى للكهنة للكساء (Skin of, given to the priests for clothing)

شحم جميع ذبائح السلام يوضع عليها ويُحرق مع المحرقة اليومية (The fat, &c of all peace offerings laid on, and consumed with the daily)

من الأشرار لا يقبلها الله (Of the wicked, not accepted by God)

الطاعة أفضل منها (Obedience better than)

معرفة ٱلله أفضل منها (Knowledge of God better than)

محبة الله أفضل منها (Love of God better than)

اختُبر إبراهيم بالأمر أن يقدّم إسحاق محرقة (Abraham tried by the command to offer Isaac as)

عاجزة عن إزالة الخطية والمصالحة مع الله (Incapable of removing sin, and reconciling to God)

أغلاها لا يفي حق الله (The most costly, no adequate tribute to God)

ذنب تقديمها من أشخاص غير مأذون لهم (Guilt of unauthorised persons offering)

ذنب تقديمها إلا في المكان المعيّن (Guilt of offering, except in the place appointed)
