Song of Solomon 6:4

← Song of Solomon 6:3 Song of Solomon 6:4 (KJV) Song of Solomon 6:5 →
I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.
Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.
Turn away thine eyes from me, for they have overcome me: thy hair is as a flock of goats that appear from Gilead.

Strong's References
  • H366 — אָיֹם (ʼâyôm, aw-yome'): from an unused root (meaning to frighten); frightful; terrible.
  • H1713 — דָּגַל (dâgal, daw-gal'): a primitive root; to flaunt, i.e. raise a flag; figuratively, to be conspicuous; (set up, with) banners, chiefest.
  • H3303 — יָפֶה (yâpheh, yaw-feh'): from יָפָה (yâphâh) H3302; beautiful (literally or figuratively); [phrase] beautiful, beauty, comely, fair(-est, one), [phrase] goodly, pleasant, well.
  • H3389 — יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם (Yᵉrûwshâlaim, yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im): rarely יְרוּשָׁלַיִם (Yᵉrûwshâlayim); a dual (in allusion to its two main hills (the true pointing, at least of the former reading, seems to be that of יְרוּשָׁלֵם (Yᵉrûwshâlêm) H3390)); probably from (the passive participle of) יָרָה (yârâh) H3384 and שָׁלַם (shâlam) H7999; founded peaceful; Jerushalaim or Jerushalem, the capital city of Palestine; Jerusalem.
  • H5000 — נָאוֶה (nâʼveh, naw-veh'): from נָאָה (nâʼâh) H4998 or נָוֶה (nâveh) H5116; suitable, or beautiful; becometh, comely, seemly.
  • H7474 — רַעְיָה (raʻyâh, rah-yaw'): feminine of רֵעַ (rêaʻ) H7453; a female associate; fellow, love.
  • H8656 — תִּרְצָה (Tirtsâh, teer-tsaw'): from רָצָה (râtsâh) H7521; delightsomeness; Tirtsah, a place in Palestine; also an Israelitess; Tirzah.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H859 — אַתָּה (ʼattâh, at-taw'): or (shortened); אַתָּ (ʼattâ); or אַת (ʼath); feminine (irregular) sometimes אַתִּי (ʼattîy); plural masculine אַתֶּם (ʼattem); feminine אַתֶּן (ʼatten); or אַתֵּנָה (ʼattênâh); or אַתֵּנָּה (ʼattênnâh); a primitive pronoun of the second person; thou and thee, or (plural) ye and you; thee, thou, ye, you.
