Romans 14:19

← Romans 14:18 Romans 14:19 (KJV) Romans 14:20 →
For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

Strong's References
  • G240 — ἀλλήλων (allḗlōn, al-lay'-lone): Genitive plural from ἄλλος (állos) G243 reduplicated; one another; each other, mutual, one another, (the other), (them-, your-)selves, (selves) together (sometimes with μετά (metá) G3326 or πρός (prós) G4314)
  • G686 — ἄρα (ára, ar'-ah): probably from αἴρω (aírō) G142 (through the idea of drawing a conclusion); a particle denoting an inference more or less decisive (as follows); haply, (what) manner (of man), no doubt, perhaps, so be, then, therefore, truly, wherefore. Often used in connection with other particles, especially γέ (gé) G1065 or οὖν (oûn) G3767 (after) or εἰ (ei) G1487 (before). Compare also ἆρα (âra) G687.
  • G1377 — διώκω (diṓkō, dee-o'-ko): a prolonged (and causative) form of a primary verb δίω (díō) (to flee; compare the base of δειλός (deilós) G1169 and διάκονος (diákonos) G1249); to pursue (literally or figuratively); by implication, to persecute; ensue, follow (after), given to, (suffer) persecute(-ion), press forward
  • G1515 — εἰρήνη (eirḗnē, i-ray'-nay): probably from a primary verb εἴρω (eírō) (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity; one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again
  • G1519 — εἰς (eis, ice): a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases; (abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with. Often used in composition with the same general import, but only with verbs (etc.) expressing motion (literally or figuratively).
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom); the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc
  • G3619 — οἰκοδομή (oikodomḗ, oy-kod-om-ay'): feminine (abstract) of a compound of οἶκος (oîkos) G3624 and the base of δῶμα (dōma) G1430; architecture, i.e. (concretely) a structure; figuratively, confirmation; building, edify(-ication, -ing)
  • G3767 — οὖν (oûn, oon): apparently a primary word; (adverbially) certainly, or (conjunctionally) accordingly; and (so, truly), but, now (then), so (likewise then), then, therefore, verily, wherefore
