1 Corinthians 10:33

← 1 Corinthians 10:32 1 Corinthians 10:33 (KJV) 1 Corinthians 11:1 →
Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Strong's References
  • G235 — ἀλλά (allá, al-lah'): neuter plural of ἄλλος (állos) G243; properly, other things, i.e. (adverbially) contrariwise (in many relations); and, but (even), howbeit, indeed, nay, nevertheless, no, notwithstanding, save, therefore, yea, yet
  • G700 — ἀρέσκω (aréskō, ar-es'-ko): probably from αἴρω (aírō) G142 (through the idea of exciting emotion); to be agreeable (or by implication, to seek to be so); please
  • G1683 — ἐμαυτοῦ (emautoû, em-ow-too'): genitive case compound of ἐμοῦ (emoû) G1700 and αὐτός (autós) G846; of myself so likewise the dative case ἐμαυτῷ (emautōi) em-ow-to', and accusative case ἐμαυτόν (emautón) em-ow-ton'; me, mine own (self), myself

Compare πυνθάνομαι (pynthánomai) G4441.
  • G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438 (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ (ho) G3588); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result); albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. Compare ἵνα μή (hína mḗ) G3363.
  • G2504 — κἀγώ (kagṓ, kag-o'): from καί (kaí) G2532 and ἐγώ (egṓ) G1473; so also the dative case κἀμοί (kamoí) kam-oy', and accusative case κἀμέ (kamé) kam-eh' and (or also, even, etc.) I, (to) me; (and, even, even so, so) I (also, in like wise), both me, me also
  • G2531 — καθώς (kathṓs, kath-oce'): from κατά (katá) G2596 and ὡς (hōs) G5613; just (or inasmuch) as, that; according to, (according, even) as, how, when
  • G3361 — μή (mḗ, may): a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expects an affirmative one)) whether; any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without. Often used in compounds in substantially the same relations. • G3956 — πᾶς (pâs, pas): including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole; all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever
  • G4183 — πολύς (polýs, pol-oos'): including the forms from the alternate πολλός (pollós); (singular) much (in any respect) or (plural) many; neuter (singular) as adverbial, largely; neuter (plural) as adverb or noun often, mostly, largely; abundant, + altogether, common, + far (passed, spent), (+ be of a) great (age, deal, -ly, while), long, many, much, oft(-en (-times)), plenteous, sore, straitly. Compare πλεῖστος (pleîstos) G4118, πλείων (pleíōn) G4119.
  • G4851 — συμφέρω (symphérō, soom-fer'-o): from σύν (sýn) G4862 and φέρω (phérō) G5342 (including its alternate); to bear together (contribute), i.e. (literally) to collect, or (figuratively) to conduce; especially (neuter participle as a noun) advantage; be better for, bring together, be expedient (for), be good, (be) profit(-able for)
  • G4982 — σώζω (sṓzō, sode'-zo): from a primary σῶς (sōs) (contraction for obsolete σάος (sáos), "safe"); to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively); heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole
