Colossians 3:12

← Colossians 3:11 Colossians 3:12 (KJV) Colossians 3:13 →
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Strong's References
  • G25 — ἀγαπάω (agapáō, ag-ap-ah'-o): perhaps from ἄγαν (ágan) (much) (or compare H5689); to love (in a social or moral sense); (be-)love(-ed). Compare φιλέω (philéō) G5368.
  • G40 — ἅγιος (hágios, hag'-ee-os): from ἅγος (hágos) (an awful thing) (compare ἁγνός (hagnós) G53, θάλπω (thálpō) G2282); sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated); (most) holy (one, thing), saint
  • G1588 — ἐκλεκτός (eklektós, ek-lek-tos'): from ἐκλέγομαι (eklégomai) G1586; select; by implication, favorite; chosen, elect
  • G1746 — ἐνδύω (endýō, en-doo'-o): from ἐν (en) G1722 and δύνω (dýnō) G1416 (in the sense of sinking into a garment); to invest with clothing (literally or figuratively); array, clothe (with), endue, have (put) on
  • G2316 — θεός (theós, theh'-os): of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with ὁ (ho) G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very; X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward)
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
  • G3115 — μακροθυμία (makrothymía, mak-roth-oo-mee'-ah): from the same as μακροθυμώς (makrothymṓs) G3116; longanimity, i.e. (objectively) forbearance or (subjectively) fortitude; longsuffering, patience
  • G3628 — οἰκτιρμός (oiktirmós, oyk-tir-mos'): from οἰκτείρω (oikteírō) G3627; pity; mercy
  • G3767 — οὖν (oûn, oon): apparently a primary word; (adverbially) certainly, or (conjunctionally) accordingly; and (so, truly), but, now (then), so (likewise then), then, therefore, verily, wherefore
  • G4236 — πρᾳότης (praiótēs, prah-ot'-ace): from πρᾷος (prâios) G4235; gentleness, by implication, humility; meekness
  • G4698 — σπλάγχνον (splánchnon, splangkh'-non): probably strengthened from σπλήν (splḗn) (the "spleen"); an intestine (plural); figuratively, pity or sympathy; bowels, inward affection, + tender mercy
  • G5012 — ταπεινοφροσύνη (tapeinophrosýnē, tap-i-nof-ros-oo'-nay): from a compound of ταπεινός (tapeinós) G5011 and the base of φρήν (phrḗn) G5424; humiliation of mind, i.e. modesty; humbleness of mind, humility (of mind, loneliness (of mind)
  • G5544 — χρηστότης (chrēstótēs, khray-stot'-ace): from χρηστός (chrēstós) G5543; usefulness, i.e. morally, excellence (in character or demeanor); gentleness, good(-ness), kindness
  • G5613 — ὡς (hōs, hoce): probably adverb of comparative from ὅς (hós) G3739; which how, i.e. in that manner (very variously used, as follows); about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were), as soon (as), even as (like), for, how (greatly), like (as, unto), since, so (that), that, to wit, unto, when(-soever), while, X with all speed

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom); the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc
