← Psalms 76:12 Psalms 77:1 (KJV) Psalms 77:2 →
He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph. I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.

Strong's References
  • H238 — אָזַן (ʼâzan, aw-zan'): a primitive root; probably to expand; but used only as a denominative from אֹזֶן (ʼôzen) H241; to broaden out the ear (with the hand), i.e. (by implication) to listen; give (perceive by the) ear, hear(-ken). See אָזַן (ʼâzan) H239.
  • H430 — אֱלֹהִים (ʼĕlôhîym, el-o-heem'): plural of אֱלוֹהַּ (ʼĕlôwahh) H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative; angels, [idiom] exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), [idiom] (very) great, judges, [idiom] mighty.
  • H623 — אָסָף (ʼÂçâph, aw-sawf'): from אָסַף (ʼâçaph) H622; collector; Asaph, the name of three Israelites, and of the family of the first; Asaph.
  • H3038 — יְדוּתוּן (Yᵉdûwthûwn, yed-oo-thoon'): or יְדֻתוּן (Yᵉduthûwn); or יְדִיתוּן (Yᵉdîythûwn); probably from יָדָה (yâdâh) H3034; laudatory; Jeduthun, an Israelite; Jeduthun.
  • H4210 — מִזְמוֹר (mizmôwr, miz-more'): from זָמַר (zâmar) H2167; properly, instrumental music; by implication, a poem set to notes; psalm.
  • H5329 — נָצַח (nâtsach, naw-tsakh'): a primitive root; also as denominative from נֶצַח (netsach) H5331; properly, to glitter from afar, i.e. to be eminent (as a superintendent, especially of the Temple services and its music); to be permanent; excel, chief musician (singer), oversee(-r), set forward.
  • H6817 — צָעַק (tsâʻaq, tsaw-ak'): a primitive root; to shriek; (by implication) to proclaim (an assembly); [idiom] at all, call together, cry (out), gather (selves) (together).
  • H6963 — קוֹל (qôwl, kole): or קֹל (qôl); from an unused root meaning to call aloud; a voice or sound; [phrase] aloud, bleating, crackling, cry ([phrase] out), fame, lightness, lowing, noise, [phrase] hold peace, (pro-) claim, proclamation, [phrase] sing, sound, [phrase] spark, thunder(-ing), voice, [phrase] yell.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H413 — אֵל (ʼêl, ale): (but only used in the shortened constructive form אֶל (ʼel) ); a primitive particle; properly, denoting motion towards, but occasionally used of a quiescent position, i.e.; near, with or among; often in general, to; about, according to, after, against, among, as for, at, because(-fore, -side), both...and, by, concerning, for, from, [idiom] hath, in(-to), near, (out) of, over, through, to(-ward), under, unto, upon, whether, with(-in).
  • H5921 — עַל (ʻal, al): properly, the same as עַל (ʻal) H5920 used as a preposition (in the singular or plural often with prefix, or as conjunction with a particle following); above, over, upon, or against (yet always in this last relation with a downward aspect) in a great variety of applications; above, according to(-ly), after, (as) against, among, and, [idiom] as, at, because of, beside (the rest of), between, beyond the time, [idiom] both and, by (reason of), [idiom] had the charge of, concerning for, in (that), (forth, out) of, (from) (off), (up-) on, over, than, through(-out), to, touching, [idiom] with.
