Hebrews 10:32
| ← Hebrews 10:31 | Hebrews 10:32 (KJV) | Hebrews 10:33 → |
|---|---|---|
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
|
But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
|
Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
- G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): feminine (with ὥρα (hṓra) G5610 implied) of a derivative of ἧμαι (hēmai) (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος (hedraîos) G1476) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context); age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years
- G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ (ho) G3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that; one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ (hoû) G3757.
- G3804 — πάθημα (páthēma, path'-ay-mah): from a presumed derivative of πάθος (páthos) G3806; something undergone, i.e. hardship or pain; subjectively, an emotion or influence; affection, affliction, motion, suffering

- G5278 — ὑπομένω (hypoménō, hoop-om-en'-o): from ὑπό (hypó) G5259 and μένω (ménō) G3306; to stay under (behind), i.e. remain; figuratively, to undergo, i.e. bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere; abide, endure, (take) patient(-ly), suffer, tarry behind
