Psalms 64:2

← Psalms 64:1 Psalms 64:2 (KJV) Psalms 64:3 →
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

Strong's References
  • H205 — אָוֶן (ʼâven, aw-ven'): from an unused root perhaps meaning properly, to pant (hence, to exert oneself, usually in vain; to come to naught); strictly nothingness; also trouble. vanity, wickedness; specifically an idol; affliction, evil, false, idol, iniquity, mischief, mourners(-ing), naught, sorrow, unjust, unrighteous, vain, vanity, wicked(-ness). Compare אַיִן (ʼayin) H369.
  • H5475 — סוֹד (çôwd, sode): from יָסַד (yâçad) H3245; a session, i.e. company of persons (in close deliberation); by implication, intimacy, consultation, a secret; assembly, consel, inward, secret (counsel).
  • H5641 — סָתַר (çâthar, saw-thar'): a primitive root; to hide (by covering), literally or figuratively; be absent, keep close, conceal, hide (self), (keep) secret, [idiom] surely.
  • H6466 — פָּעַל (pâʻal, paw-al'): a primitive root; to do or make (systematically and habitually), especially to practise; commit, (evil-) do(-er), make(-r), ordain, work(-er).
  • H7285 — רֶגֶשׁ (regesh, reh'-ghesh): or (feminine) רִגְשָׁה (rigshâh); from רָגַשׁ (râgash) H7283; a tumultuous crowd; company, insurrection.
  • H7489 — רָעַע (râʻaʻ, raw-ah'): a primitive root; properly, to spoil (literally, by breaking to pieces); figuratively, to make (or be) good fornothing, i.e. bad (physically, socially or morally); afflict, associate selves (by mistake for רָעָה (râʻâh) H7462), break (down, in pieces), [phrase] displease, (be, bring, do) evil (doer, entreat, man), show self friendly (by mistake for רָעָה (râʻâh) H7462), do harm, (do) hurt, (behave self, deal) ill, [idiom] indeed, do mischief, punish, still, vex, (do) wicked (doer, -ly), be (deal, do) worse.
