← Acts 10:13 Acts 10:14 (KJV) Acts 10:15 →
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Strong's References
  • G169 — ἀκάθαρτος (akáthartos, ak-ath'-ar-tos): from Α (A) G1 (as a negative particle) and a presumed derivative of καθαίρω (kathaírō) G2508 (meaning cleansed); impure (ceremonially, morally (lewd) or specially, (demonic)); foul, unclean
  • G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.; also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English)
  • G2036 — ἔπω (épō, ep'-o): a primary verb (used only in the definite past tense, the others being borrowed from ἐρέω (eréō) G2046, ῥέω (rhéō) G4483, and φημί (phēmí) G5346); to speak or say (by word or writing); answer, bid, bring word, call, command, grant, say (on), speak, tell. Compare λέγω (légō) G3004.
  • G2228 — ἤ (ḗ, ay): a primary particle of distinction between two connected terms; disjunctive, or; comparative, than; and, but (either), (n-)either, except it be, (n-)or (else), rather, save, than, that, what, yea. Often used in connection with other particles. Compare especially ἤδη (ḗdē) G2235, ἤπερ (ḗper) G2260, ἤτοι (ḗtoi) G2273.
  • G2839 — κοινός (koinós, koy-nos'): probably from σύν (sýn) G4862; common, i.e. (literally) shared by all or several, or (ceremonially) profane; common, defiled, unclean, unholy
  • G2962 — κύριος (kýrios, koo'-ree-os): from κῦρος (kŷros) (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title); God, Lord, master, Sir
  • G3365 — μηδαμῶς (mēdamōs, may-dam-oce'): adverb from a compound of μή (mḗ) G3361 and ἀμός (amós) (somebody); by no means; not so
  • G3754 — ὅτι (hóti, hot'-ee): neuter of ὅστις (hóstis) G3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because; as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why
  • G3763 — οὐδέποτε (oudépote, oo-dep'-ot-eh): from οὐδέ (oudé) G3761 and ποτέ (poté) G4218; not even at any time, i.e. never at all; neither at any time, never, nothing at any time
  • G3956 — πᾶς (pâs, pas): including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole; all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever
  • G4074 — Πέτρος (Pétros, pet'-ros): apparently a primary word; a (piece of) rock (larger than λίθος (líthos) G3037); as a name, Petrus, an apostle; Peter, rock. Compare Κηφᾶς (Kēphâs) G2786.
  • G5315 — φάγω (phágō, fag'-o): a primary verb (used as an alternate of ἐσθίω (esthíō) G2068 in certain tenses); to eat (literally or figuratively); eat, meat

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom); the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc
