Psalms 69:14

← Psalms 69:13 Psalms 69:14 (KJV) Psalms 69:15 →
But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Strong's References
  • H2883 — טָבַע (ṭâbaʻ, taw-bah'): a primitive root; to sink; drown, fasten, settle, sink.
  • H2916 — טִיט (ṭîyṭ, teet): from an unused root meaning apparently to be sticky (rather perb. a demonstrative); from טוּא (ṭûwʼ) H2894, through the idea of dirt to be swept away; mud or clay; figuratively, calamity; clay, dirt, mire.
  • H4325 — מַיִם (mayim, mah'-yim): dual of a primitive noun (but used in a singular sense); water; figuratively, juice; by euphemism, urine, semen; [phrase] piss, wasting, water(-ing, (-course, -flood, -spring)).
  • H4615 — מַעֲמָק (maʻămâq, mah-am-awk'): from עָמַק (ʻâmaq) H6009; a deep; deep, depth.
  • H5337 — נָצַל (nâtsal, naw-tsal'): a primitive root; to snatch away, whether in a good or a bad sense; [idiom] at all, defend, deliver (self), escape, [idiom] without fail, part, pluck, preserve, recover, rescue, rid, save, spoil, strip, [idiom] surely, take (out).
  • H8130 — שָׂנֵא (sânêʼ, saw-nay'): a primitive root; to hate (personally); enemy, foe, (be) hate(-ful, -r), odious, [idiom] utterly.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H408 — אַל (ʼal, al): a negative particle (akin to לֹא (lôʼ) H3808); not (the qualified negation, used as a deprecative); once (Job 24:25) as a noun, nothing; nay, neither, [phrase] never, no, nor, not, nothing (worth), rather than.
