Colossians 4:3

← Colossians 4:2 Colossians 4:3 (KJV) Colossians 4:4 →
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

  • G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438 (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ (ho) G3588); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result); albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. Compare ἵνα μή (hína mḗ) G3363.
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet

  • G3466 — μυστήριον (mystḗrion, moos-tay'-ree-on): from a derivative of μύω (mýō) (to shut the mouth); a secret or "mystery" (through the idea of silence imposed by initiation into religious rites); mystery
  • G3739 — ὅς (hós, hos): probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article ὁ (ho) G3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that; one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc. See also οὗ (hoû) G3757.
  • G4012 — περί (perí, per-ee'): from the base of πέραν (péran) G4008; properly, through (all over), i.e. around; figuratively with respect to; used in various applications, of place, cause or time (with the genitive case denoting the subject or occasion or superlative point; with the accusative case the locality, circuit, matter, circumstance or general period); (there-)about, above, against, at, on behalf of, X and his company, which concern, (as) concerning, for, X how it will go with, ((there-, where-)) of, on, over, pertaining (to), for sake, X (e-)state, (as) touching, (where-)by (in), with.
