Romans 11:4

← Romans 11:3 Romans 11:4 (KJV) Romans 11:5 →
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Strong's References
  • G235 — ἀλλά (allá, al-lah'): neuter plural of ἄλλος (állos) G243; properly, other things, i.e. (adverbially) contrariwise (in many relations); and, but (even), howbeit, indeed, nay, nevertheless, no, notwithstanding, save, therefore, yea, yet
  • G435 — ἀνήρ (anḗr, an'-ayr): a primary word (compare ἄνθρωπος (ánthrōpos) G444); a man (properly as an individual male); fellow, husband, man, sir
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.
  • G896 — Βάαλ (Báal, bah'-al): of Hebrew origin (H1168); Baal, a Phœnician deity (used as a symbol of idolatry); Baal
  • G1119 — γόνυ (góny, gon-oo'): of uncertain affinity; the "knee"; knee(X -l)
  • G1683 — ἐμαυτοῦ (emautoû, em-ow-too'): genitive case compound of ἐμοῦ (emoû) G1700 and αὐτός (autós) G846; of myself so likewise the dative case ἐμαυτῷ (emautōi) em-ow-to', and accusative case ἐμαυτόν (emautón) em-ow-ton'; me, mine own (self), myself
  • G2035 — ἑπτακισχίλιοι (heptakischílioi, hep-tak-is-khil'-ee-oy): from ἑπτάκις (heptákis) G2034 and χίλιοι (chílioi) G5507; seven times a thousand; seven thousand
  • G2578 — κάμπτω (kámptō, kamp'-to): apparently a primary verb; to bend; bow
  • G2641 — καταλείπω (kataleípō, kat-al-i'-po): from κατά (katá) G2596 and λείπω (leípō) G3007; to leave down, i.e. behind; by implication, to abandon, have remaining; forsake, leave, reserve
  • G3004 — λέγω (légō, leg'-o): a primary verb; properly, to "lay" forth, i.e. (figuratively) relate (in words (usually of systematic or set discourse; whereas ἔπω (épō) G2036 and φημί (phēmí) G5346 generally refer to an individual expression or speech respectively; while ῥέω (rhéō) G4483 is properly to break silence merely, and λαλέω (laléō) G2980 means an extended or random harangue)); by implication, to mean; ask, bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, say(-ing, on), shew, speak, tell, utter
  • G3748 — ὅστις (hóstis, hos'-tis): from ὅς (hós) G3739 and τὶς (tìs) G5100; which some, i.e. any that; also (definite) which same; X and (they), (such) as, (they) that, in that they, what(-soever), whereas ye, (they) which, who(-soever). Compare ὅτι (hóti) G3754.
  • G3756 — οὐ (ou, oo): a primary word; the absolute negative (compare μή (mḗ) G3361) adverb; no or not; + long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but. See also οὐ μή (ou mḗ) G3364, μῆκος (mēkos) G3372.
  • G5101 — τίς (tís, tis): probably emphatic of τὶς (tìs) G5100; an interrogative pronoun, who, which or what (in direct or indirect questions); every man, how (much), + no(-ne, thing), what (manner, thing), where (-by, -fore, -of, -unto, - with, -withal), whether, which, who(-m, -se), why
  • G5538 — χρηματισμός (chrēmatismós, khray-mat-is-mos'): from χρηματίζω (chrēmatízō) G5537; a divine response or revelation; answer of God
