|---|---|---|
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
|
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
|
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Often used (usually ἄν (án), before a vowel) also in composition (as a contraction from ἄνευ (áneu) G427) in the sense of privation; so, in many words, beginning with this letter; occasionally in the sense of union (as a contraction of ἅμα (háma) G260).
- G746 — ἀρχή (archḗ, ar-khay'): from ἄρχομαι (árchomai) G756; (properly abstract) a commencement, or (concretely) chief (in various applications of order, time, place, or rank); beginning, corner, (at the, the) first (estate), magistrate, power, principality, principle, rule
- G1473 — ἐγώ (egṓ, eg-o'): a primary pronoun of the first person; I (only expressed when emphatic); I, me. For the other cases and the plural see ἐμέ (emé) G1691, ἐμοί (emoí) G1698, ἐμοῦ (emoû) G1700, ἡμᾶς (hēmâs) G2248, ἡμεῖς (hēmeîs) G2249, ἡμῖν (hēmîn) G2254, ἡμῶν (hēmōn) G2257, etc.
- G1510 — εἰμί (eimí, i-mee'): the first person singular present indicative; a prolonged form of a primary and defective verb; I exist (used only when emphatic); am, have been, X it is I, was.
