← Psalms 89:50 Psalms 89:51 (KJV) Psalms 89:52 →
Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;
Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.
Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.

Strong's References
  • H341 — אֹיֵב (ʼôyêb, o-yabe'): or (fully) אוֹיֵב (ʼôwyêb); active participle of אָיַב (ʼâyab) H340; hating; an adversary; enemy, foe.
  • H2778 — חָרַף (châraph, khaw-raf'): a primitive root; also denominative (from חֹרֶף (chôreph) H2779); to pull off, i.e. (by implication) to expose (as by stripping); specifically, to betroth (as if a surrender); figuratively, to carp at, i.e. defame; to spend the winter; betroth, blaspheme, defy, jeopard, rail, reproach, upbraid.
  • H3068 — יְהֹוָה (Yᵉhôvâh, yeh-ho-vaw'): from הָיָה (hâyâh) H1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God; Jehovah, the Lord. Compare יָהּ (Yâhh) H3050, יְהֹוִה (Yᵉhôvih) H3069.
  • H4899 — מָשִׁיחַ (mâshîyach, maw-shee'-akh): from מָשַׁח (mâshach) H4886; anointed; usually a consecrated person (as a king, priest, or saint); specifically, the Messiah; anointed, Messiah.
  • H6119 — עָקֵב (ʻâqêb, aw-kabe'): or (feminine) עִקְּבָה (ʻiqqᵉbâh); from עָקַב (ʻâqab) H6117; a heel (as protuberant); hence, a track; figuratively, the rear (of an army); heel, (horse-) hoof, last, lier in wait (by mistake for עָקֵב (ʻâqêb) H6120), (foot-) step.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H834 — אֲשֶׁר (ʼăsher, ash-er'): a primitive relative pronoun (of every gender and number); who, which, what, that; also (as an adverb and a conjunction) when, where, how, because, in order that, etc.; [idiom] after, [idiom] alike, as (soon as), because, [idiom] every, for, [phrase] forasmuch, [phrase] from whence, [phrase] how(-soever), [idiom] if, (so) that ((thing) which, wherein), [idiom] though, [phrase] until, [phrase] whatsoever, when, where ([phrase] -as, -in, -of, -on, -soever, -with), which, whilst, [phrase] whither(-soever), who(-m, -soever, -se). As it is indeclinable, it is often accompanied by the personal pronoun expletively, used to show the connection.
