Matthew 6:20

|---|---|---|
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
|
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
|
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

- G1035 — βρῶσις (brōsis, bro'-sis): from the base of βιβρώσκω (bibrṓskō) G977; (abstractly) eating (literally or figuratively); by extension (concretely) food (literally or figuratively); eating, food, meat
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.; also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English)
- G1358 — διορύσσω (diorýssō, dee-or-oos'-so): from διά (diá) G1223 and ὀρύσσω (orýssō) G3736; to penetrate burglariously; break through (up)
- G1722 — ἐν (en, en): a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς (eis) G1519 and ἐκ (ek) G1537); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.; about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
- G2343 — θησαυρίζω (thēsaurízō, thay-sow-rid'-zo): from θησαυρός (thēsaurós) G2344; to amass or reserve (literally or figuratively); lay up (treasure), (keep) in store, (heap) treasure (together, up)
- G2344 — θησαυρός (thēsaurós, thay-sow-ros'): from τίθημι (títhēmi) G5087; a deposit, i.e. wealth (literally or figuratively); treasure
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
- G2812 — κλέπτης (kléptēs, klep'-tace): from κλέπτω (kléptō) G2813; a stealer (literally or figuratively); thief. Compare λῃστής (lēistḗs) G3027.
- G2813 — κλέπτω (kléptō, klep'-to): a primary verb; to filch; steal
- G3699 — ὅπου (hópou, hop'-oo): from ὅς (hós) G3739 and πού (poú) G4225; what(-ever) where, i.e. at whichever spot; in what place, where(-as, -soever), whither (+ soever)
- G3756 — οὐ (ou, oo): a primary word; the absolute negative (compare μή (mḗ) G3361) adverb; no or not; + long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but. See also οὐ μή (ou mḗ) G3364, μῆκος (mēkos) G3372.
- G3761 — οὐδέ (oudé, oo-deh'): from οὐ (ou) G3756 and δέ (dé) G1161; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even; neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as
- G3772 — οὐρανός (ouranós, oo-ran-os'): perhaps from the same as ὄρος (óros) G3735 (through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension, heaven (as the abode of God); by implication, happiness, power, eternity; specially, the Gospel (Christianity); air, heaven(-ly), sky
- G3777 — οὔτε (oúte, oo'-teh): from οὐ (ou) G3756 and τέ (té) G5037; not too, i.e. neither or nor; by analogy, not even; neither, none, nor (yet), (no, yet) not, nothing
