2 Corinthians 11:16
| ← 2 Corinthians 11:15 | 2 Corinthians 11:16 (KJV) | 2 Corinthians 11:17 → |
|---|---|---|
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
|
I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.
|
That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

Strong's References
- G878 — ἄφρων (áphrōn, af'-rone): from Α (A) G1 (as a negative particle) and φρήν (phrḗn) G5424; properly, mindless, i.e. stupid, (by implication) ignorant, (specially) egotistic, (practically) rash, or (morally) unbelieving; fool(-ish), unwise
- G1209 — δέχομαι (déchomai, dekh'-om-ahee): middle voice of a primary verb; to receive (in various applications, literally or figuratively); accept, receive, take. Compare λαμβάνω (lambánō) G2983.
- G1380 — δοκέω (dokéō, dok-eh'-o): a prolonged form of a primary verb, δόκω (dókō) dok'-o (used only in an alternate in certain tenses; compare the base of δεικνύω (deiknýō) G1166) of the same meaning; to think; by implication, to seem (truthfully or uncertainly); be accounted, (of own) please(-ure), be of reputation, seem (good), suppose, think, trow
- G1490 — εἰ δὲ μή(γε) (ei dè mḗ(ge), i deh may'-(gheh)): from εἰ (ei) G1487, δέ (dé) G1161, and μή (mḗ) G3361 (sometimes with γέ (gé) G1065 added); but if not; (or) else, if (not, otherwise), otherwise
- G1511 — εἶναι (eînai, i'-nahee): present infinitive from εἰμί (eimí) G1510; to exist; am, was. come, is, X lust after, X please well, there is, to be, was.
- G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438 (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ (ho) G3588); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result); albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. Compare ἵνα μή (hína mḗ) G3363.
- G2504 — κἀγώ (kagṓ, kag-o'): from καί (kaí) G2532 and ἐγώ (egṓ) G1473; so also the dative case κἀμοί (kamoí) kam-oy', and accusative case κἀμέ (kamé) kam-eh' and (or also, even, etc.) I, (to) me; (and, even, even so, so) I (also, in like wise), both me, me also
- G2579 — κἄν (kán, kan): from καί (kaí) G2532 and ἐάν (eán) G1437; and (or even) if; and (also) if (so much as), if but, at the least, though, yet
- G2744 — καυχάομαι (kaucháomai, kow-khah'-om-ahee): from some (obsolete) base akin to that of αὐχέω (auchéō) (to boast) and εὔχομαι (eúchomai) G2172; to vaunt (in a good or a bad sense); (make) boast, glory, joy, rejoice
- G3004 — λέγω (légō, leg'-o): a primary verb; properly, to "lay" forth, i.e. (figuratively) relate (in words (usually of systematic or set discourse; whereas ἔπω (épō) G2036 and φημί (phēmí) G5346 generally refer to an individual expression or speech respectively; while ῥέω (rhéō) G4483 is properly to break silence merely, and λαλέω (laléō) G2980 means an extended or random harangue)); by implication, to mean; ask, bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, say(-ing, on), shew, speak, tell, utter
- G3165 — μέ (mé, meh): a shorter (and probably original) form of ἐμέ (emé) G1691; me; I, me, my
- G3361 — μή (mḗ, may): a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expects an affirmative one)) whether; any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without. Often used in compounds in substantially the same relations. - G3397 — μικρόν (mikrón, mik-ron'): masculine or neuter singular of μικρός (mikrós) G3398 (as noun); a small space of time or degree; a (little) (while)
- G3825 — πάλιν (pálin, pal'-in): probably from the same as πάλη (pálē) G3823 (through the idea of oscillatory repetition); (adverbially) anew, i.e. (of place) back, (of time) once more, or (conjunctionally) furthermore or on the other hand; again
- G5100 — τὶς (tìs, tis): an enclitic indefinite pronoun; some or any person or object; a (kind of), any (man, thing, thing at all), certain (thing), divers, he (every) man, one (X thing), ought, + partly, some (man, -body, - thing, -what), (+ that no-)thing, what(-soever), X wherewith, whom(-soever), whose(-soever)
- G5613 — ὡς (hōs, hoce): probably adverb of comparative from ὅς (hós) G3739; which how, i.e. in that manner (very variously used, as follows); about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were), as soon (as), even as (like), for, how (greatly), like (as, unto), since, so (that), that, to wit, unto, when(-soever), while, X with all speed
