Zechariah 4:11

← Zechariah 4:10 Zechariah 4:11 (KJV) Zechariah 4:12 →
For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

Strong's References
  • H559 — אָמַר (ʼâmar, aw-mar'): a primitive root; to say (used with great latitude); answer, appoint, avouch, bid, boast self, call, certify, challenge, charge, [phrase] (at the, give) command(-ment), commune, consider, declare, demand, [idiom] desire, determine, [idiom] expressly, [idiom] indeed, [idiom] intend, name, [idiom] plainly, promise, publish, report, require, say, speak (against, of), [idiom] still, [idiom] suppose, talk, tell, term, [idiom] that is, [idiom] think, use (speech), utter, [idiom] verily, [idiom] yet.
  • H2132 — זַיִת (zayith, zay'-yith): probably from an unused root (akin to זִו (Ziv) H2099); an olive (as yielding illuminating oil), the tree, the branch or the berry; olive (tree, -yard), Olivet.
  • H3225 — יָמִין (yâmîyn, yaw-meen'): from יָמַן (yâman) H3231; the right hand or side (leg, eye) of a person or other object (as the stronger and more dexterous); locally, the south; [phrase] left-handed, right (hand, side), south.
  • H4501 — מְנוֹרָה (mᵉnôwrâh, men-o-raw'): or מְנֹרָה (mᵉnôrâh); feminine of מָנוֹר (mânôwr) H4500 (in the original sense of נִיר (nîyr) H5216); a chandelier; candlestick.
  • H6030 — עָנָה (ʻânâh, aw-naw'): a primitive root; properly, to eye or (generally) to heed, i.e. pay attention; by implication, to respond; by extension to begin to speak; specifically to sing, shout, testify, announce; give account, afflict (by mistake for עָנָה (ʻânâh) H6031), (cause to, give) answer, bring low (by mistake for עָנָה (ʻânâh) H6031), cry, hear, Leannoth, lift up, say, [idiom] scholar, (give a) shout, sing (together by course), speak, testify, utter, (bear) witness. See also בֵּית עֲנוֹת (Bêyth ʻĂnôwth) H1042, בֵּית עֲנָת (Bêyth ʻĂnâth) H1043.
  • H8040 — שְׂמֹאול (sᵉmôʼwl, sem-ole'): or שְׂמֹאל (sᵉmôʼl); a primitive word (rather perhaps from the same as שִׂמְלָה (simlâh) H8071 (by insertion of the aleph) through the idea of wrapping up); properly, dark (as enveloped), i.e. the north; hence (by orientation), the left hand; left (hand, side).
  • H8147 — שְׁנַיִם (shᵉnayim, shen-ah'-yim): dual of שֵׁנִי (shênîy) H8145; feminine שְׁתַּיִם (shᵉttayim); two; also (as ordinal) twofold; both, couple, double, second, twain, [phrase] twelfth, [phrase] twelve, [phrase] twenty (sixscore) thousand, twice, two.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H413 — אֵל (ʼêl, ale): (but only used in the shortened constructive form אֶל (ʼel) ); a primitive particle; properly, denoting motion towards, but occasionally used of a quiescent position, i.e.; near, with or among; often in general, to; about, according to, after, against, among, as for, at, because(-fore, -side), both...and, by, concerning, for, from, [idiom] hath, in(-to), near, (out) of, over, through, to(-ward), under, unto, upon, whether, with(-in).
  • H428 — אֵלֶּה (ʼêl-leh, ale'-leh): prolonged from אֵל (ʼêl) H411; these or those; an-(the) other; one sort, so, some, such, them, these (same), they, this, those, thus, which, who(-m).
  • H4100 — מָה (mâh, maw): or מַה (mah); or מָ (mâ); or מַ (ma); also מֶה (meh); a primitive particle; properly, interrogative what? (including how? why? when?); but also exclamation, what! (including how!), or indefinitely what (including whatever, and even relatively, that which); often used with prefixes in various adverbial or conjunctive senses; how (long, oft, (-soever)), (no-) thing, what (end, good, purpose, thing), whereby(-fore, -in, -to, -with), (for) why.
  • H5921 — עַל (ʻal, al): properly, the same as עַל (ʻal) H5920 used as a preposition (in the singular or plural often with prefix, or as conjunction with a particle following); above, over, upon, or against (yet always in this last relation with a downward aspect) in a great variety of applications; above, according to(-ly), after, (as) against, among, and, [idiom] as, at, because of, beside (the rest of), between, beyond the time, [idiom] both and, by (reason of), [idiom] had the charge of, concerning for, in (that), (forth, out) of, (from) (off), (up-) on, over, than, through(-out), to, touching, [idiom] with.
