Strong's References
- H205 — אָוֶן (ʼâven, aw-ven'): from an unused root perhaps meaning properly, to pant (hence, to exert oneself, usually in vain; to come to naught); strictly nothingness; also trouble. vanity, wickedness; specifically an idol; affliction, evil, false, idol, iniquity, mischief, mourners(-ing), naught, sorrow, unjust, unrighteous, vain, vanity, wicked(-ness). Compare אַיִן (ʼayin) H369.
- H430 — אֱלֹהִים (ʼĕlôhîym, el-o-heem'): plural of אֱלוֹהַּ (ʼĕlôwahh) H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative; angels, [idiom] exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), [idiom] (very) great, judges, [idiom] mighty.
- H898 — בָּגַד (bâgad, baw-gad'): a primitive root; to cover (with a garment); figuratively, to act covertly; by implication, to pillage; deal deceitfully (treacherously, unfaithfully), offend, transgress(-or), (depart), treacherous (dealer, -ly, man), unfaithful(-ly, man), [idiom] very.
- H1471 — גּוֹי (gôwy, go'-ee): rarely (shortened) גֹּי (gôy); apparently from the same root as גֵּוָה (gêvâh) H1465 (in the sense of massing); a foreign nation; hence, a Gentile; also (figuratively) a troop of animals, or a flight of locusts; Gentile, heathen, nation, people.
- H2603 — חָנַן (chânan, khaw-nan'): a primitive root (compare חָנָה (chânâh) H2583); properly, to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (i.e. move to favor by petition); beseech, [idiom] fair, (be, find, shew) favour(-able), be (deal, give, grant (gracious(-ly), intreat, (be) merciful, have (shew) mercy (on, upon), have pity upon, pray, make supplication, [idiom] very.
- H3068 — יְהֹוָה (Yᵉhôvâh, yeh-ho-vaw'): from הָיָה (hâyâh) H1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God; Jehovah, the Lord. Compare יָהּ (Yâhh) H3050, יְהֹוִה (Yᵉhôvih) H3069.
- H3478 — יִשְׂרָאֵל (Yisrâʼêl, yis-raw-ale'): from שָׂרָה (sârâh) H8280 and אֵל (ʼêl) H410; he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity; Israel.
- H5542 — סֶלָה (çelâh, seh'-law): from סָלָה (çâlâh) H5541; suspension (of music), i.e. pause; Selah.
- H6485 — פָּקַד (pâqad, paw-kad'): a primitive root; to visit (with friendly or hostile intent); by analogy, to oversee, muster, charge, care for, miss, deposit, etc.; appoint, [idiom] at all, avenge, bestow, (appoint to have the, give a) charge, commit, count, deliver to keep, be empty, enjoin, go see, hurt, do judgment, lack, lay up, look, make, [idiom] by any means, miss, number, officer, (make) overseer, have (the) oversight, punish, reckon, (call to) remember(-brance), set (over), sum, [idiom] surely, visit, want.
- H6635 — צָבָא (tsâbâʼ, tsaw-baw'): or (feminine) צְבָאָה (tsᵉbâʼâh); from צָבָא (tsâbâʼ) H6633; a mass of persons (or figuratively, things), especially reg. organized forwar (an army); by implication, a campaign, literally or figuratively (specifically, hardship, worship); appointed time, ([phrase]) army, ([phrase]) battle, company, host, service, soldiers, waiting upon, war(-fare).
- H6974 — קוּץ (qûwts, koots): a primitive root (identical with קוּץ (qûwts) H6972 through the idea of abruptness in starting up from sleep (compare יָקַץ (yâqats) H3364)); to awake (literally or figuratively); arise, (be) (a-) wake, watch.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- H408 — אַל (ʼal, al): a negative particle (akin to לֹא (lôʼ) H3808); not (the qualified negation, used as a deprecative); once (Job 24:25) as a noun, nothing; nay, neither, [phrase] never, no, nor, not, nothing (worth), rather than.
