Mark 7:10

← Mark 7:9 [words of Jesus] Mark 7:10 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Mark 7:11 [words of Jesus] →
And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

  • G2288 — θάνατος (thánatos, than'-at-os): from θνήσκω (thnḗskō) G2348; (properly, an adjective used as a noun) death (literally or figuratively); X deadly, (be…) death
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
  • G2551 — κακολογέω (kakologéō, kak-ol-og-eh'-o): from a compound of κακός (kakós) G2556 and λόγος (lógos) G3056; to revile; curse, speak evil of
  • G3384 — μήτηρ (mḗtēr, may'-tare): apparently a primary word; a "mother" (literally or figuratively, immediate or remote); mother

  • G5053 — τελευτάω (teleutáō, tel-yoo-tah'-o): from a presumed derivative of τελέω (teléō) G5055; to finish life (by implication, of βίος (bíos) G979), i.e. expire (demise); be dead, decease, die
  • G5091 — τιμάω (timáō, tim-ah'-o): from τίμιος (tímios) G5093; to prize, i.e. fix a valuation upon; by implication, to revere; honour, value

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
