Hosea 3:2

← Hosea 3:1 Hosea 3:2 (KJV) Hosea 3:3 →
Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

Strong's References
  • H2563 — חֹמֶר (chômer, kho'mer): from חָמַר (châmar) H2560; properly, a bubbling up, i.e. of water, a wave; of earth, mire or clay (cement); also a heap; hence, a chomer or dry measure; clay, heap, homer, mire, motion.
  • H2568 — חָמֵשׁ (châmêsh, khaw-maysh'): masculine חֲמִשָּׁה (chămishshâh); a primitive numeral; five; fif(-teen), fifth, five ([idiom] apiece).
  • H3701 — כֶּסֶף (keçeph, keh'-sef): from כָּסַף (kâçaph) H3700; silver (from its pale color); by implication, money; money, price, silver(-ling).
  • H3739 — כָּרָה (kârâh, kaw-raw'): usually assigned as a primitive root, but probably only a special application of כָּרָה (kârâh) H3738 (through the common idea of planning implied in a bargain); to purchase; buy, prepare.
  • H3963 — לֶתֶךְ (lethek, leh'-thek): from an unused root of uncertain meaning; a measure for things dry; half homer. m
  • H6240 — עָשָׂר (ʻâsâr, aw-sawr'): for עֶשֶׂר (ʻeser) H6235; ten (only in combination), i.e. -teen; also (ordinal) -teenth; (eigh-, fif-, four-, nine-, seven-, six-, thir-) teen(-th), [phrase] eleven(-th), [phrase] sixscore thousand, [phrase] twelve(-th).
  • H8184 — שְׂעֹרָה (sᵉʻôrâh, seh-o-raw'): or שְׂעוֹרָה (sᵉʻôwrâh) (feminine meaning the plant); and (masculine meaning the grain); also שְׂעֹר (sᵉʻôr); or שְׂעוֹר (sᵉʻôwr); from שָׂעַר (sâʻar) H8175 in the sense of roughness; barley (as villose); barley.
