| ← Matthew 17:23 [words of Jesus] | Matthew 17:24 (KJV) | Matthew 17:25 [words of Jesus] → |
|---|---|---|
And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.
|
And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
|
He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.; also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English)

- G1323 — δίδραχμον (dídrachmon, did'-rakh-mon): from δίς (dís) G1364 and δραχμή (drachmḗ) G1406; a double drachma (didrachm); tribute
- G1519 — εἰς (eis, ice): a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases; (abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with. - G2036 — ἔπω (épō, ep'-o): a primary verb (used only in the definite past tense, the others being borrowed from ἐρέω (eréō) G2046, ῥέω (rhéō) G4483, and φημί (phēmí) G5346); to speak or say (by word or writing); answer, bid, bring word, call, command, grant, say (on), speak, tell. Compare λέγω (légō) G3004.
- G2064 — ἔρχομαι (érchomai, er'-khom-ahee): middle voice of a primary verb (used only in the present and imperfect tenses, the others being supplied by a kindred (middle voice) ἐλεύθομαι (eleúthomai) el-yoo'-thom-ahee, or (active) ἔλθω (élthō) el'-tho, which do not otherwise occur); to come or go (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively); accompany, appear, bring, come, enter, fall out, go, grow, X light, X next, pass, resort, be set
