← Luke 22:40 [words of Jesus] Luke 22:41 (KJV) Luke 22:42 [words of Jesus] →
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Strong's References

In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc.
  • G645 — ἀποσπάω (apospáō, ap-os-pah'-o): from ἀπό (apó) G575 and σπάω (spáō) G4685; to drag forth, i.e. (literally) unsheathe (a sword), or relatively (with a degree of force implied) retire (personally or factiously); (with-)draw (away), after we were gotten from
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. • G1119 — γόνυ (góny, gon-oo'): of uncertain affinity; the "knee"; knee(X -l)
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
  • G3037 — λίθος (líthos, lee'-thos): apparently a primary word; a stone (literally or figuratively); (mill-, stumbling-)stone
