John 6:39
| ← John 6:38 [words of Jesus] | John 6:39 (KJV) [words of Jesus] | John 6:40 [words of Jesus] → |
|---|---|---|
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
|
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
|
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

- G450 — ἀνίστημι (anístēmi, an-is'-tay-mee): from ἀνά (aná) G303 and ἵστημι (hístēmi) G2476; to stand up (literal or figurative, transitive or intransitive); arise, lift up, raise up (again), rise (again), stand up(-right)
- G622 — ἀπόλλυμι (apóllymi, ap-ol'-loo-mee): from ἀπό (apó) G575 and the base of ὄλεθρος (ólethros) G3639; to destroy fully (reflexively, to perish, or lose), literally or figuratively; destroy, die, lose, mar, perish
- G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.

- G1325 — δίδωμι (dídōmi, did'-o-mee): a prolonged form of a primary verb (which is used as an alternative in most of the tenses); to give (used in a very wide application, properly, or by implication, literally or figuratively; greatly modified by the connection); adventure, bestow, bring forth, commit, deliver (up), give, grant, hinder, make, minister, number, offer, have power, put, receive, set, shew, smite (+ with the hand), strike (+ with the palm of the hand), suffer, take, utter, yield
- G1537 — ἐκ (ek, ek): a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or figurative; direct or remote); after, among, X are, at, betwixt(-yond), by (the means of), exceedingly, (+ abundantly above), for(- th), from (among, forth, up), + grudgingly, + heartily, X heavenly, X hereby, + very highly, in, …ly, (because, by reason) of, off (from), on, out among (from, of), over, since, X thenceforth, through, X unto, X vehemently, with(-out). Often used in composition, with the same general import; often of completion.
- G1722 — ἐν (en, en): a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς (eis) G1519 and ἐκ (ek) G1537); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.; about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). - G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): feminine (with ὥρα (hṓra) G5610 implied) of a derivative of ἧμαι (hēmai) (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος (hedraîos) G1476) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context); age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years
- G2307 — θέλημα (thélēma, thel'-ay-mah): from the prolonged form of θέλω (thélō) G2309; a determination (properly, the thing), i.e. (actively) choice (specially, purpose, decree; abstractly, volition) or (passively) inclination; desire, pleasure, will
- G2443 — ἵνα (hína, hin'-ah): probably from the same as the former part of ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438 (through the demonstrative idea; compare ὁ (ho) G3588); in order that (denoting the purpose or the result); albeit, because, to the intent (that), lest, so as, (so) that, (for) to. - G3361 — μή (mḗ, may): a primary particle of qualified negation (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expresses an absolute denial); (adverb) not, (conjunction) lest; also (as an interrogative implying a negative answer (whereas οὐ (ou) G3756 expects an affirmative one)) whether; any but (that), X forbear, + God forbid, + lack, lest, neither, never, no (X wise in), none, nor, (can-)not, nothing, that not, un(-taken), without.
