|---|---|---|
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
|
Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
|
For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

- G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): feminine (with ὥρα (hṓra) G5610 implied) of a derivative of ἧμαι (hēmai) (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος (hedraîos) G1476) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context); age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years

- G5176 — τρώγω (trṓgō, tro'-go): probably strengthened from a collateral form of the base of τραῦμα (traûma) G5134 and τρίβος (tríbos) G5147 through the idea of corrosion or wear; or perhaps rather of a base of τρυγών (trygṓn) G5167 and τρίζω (trízō) G5149 through the idea of a craunching sound; to gnaw or chew, i.e. (generally) to eat; eat
