Acts 8:33

← Acts 8:32 Acts 8:33 (KJV) Acts 8:34 →
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

Strong's References
  • G142 — αἴρω (aírō, ah'-ee-ro): a primary root; to lift up; by implication, to take up or away; figuratively, to raise (the voice), keep in suspense (the mind), specially, to sail away (i.e. weigh anchor); by Hebraism (compare H5375) to expiate sin; away with, bear (up), carry, lift up, loose, make to doubt, put away, remove, take (away, up)
  • G575 — ἀπό (apó, apo'): a primary particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative); (X here-)after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space of), for(-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-)on(-ce), since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc.
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.
  • G1074 — γενεά (geneá, ghen-eh-ah'): from (a presumed derivative of) γένος (génos) G1085; a generation; by implication, an age (the period or the persons); age, generation, nation, time
  • G1093 — γῆ (gē, ghay): contracted from a primary word; soil; by extension a region, or the solid part or the whole of the terrene globe (including the occupants in each application); country, earth(-ly), ground, land, world
  • G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.; also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English)
  • G1334 — διηγέομαι (diēgéomai, dee-ayg-eh'-om-ahee): from διά (diá) G1223 and ἡγέομαι (hēgéomai) G2233; to relate fully; declare, shew, tell
  • G1722 — ἐν (en, en): a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state), and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), i.e. a relation of rest (intermediate between εἰς (eis) G1519 and ἐκ (ek) G1537); "in," at, (up-)on, by, etc.; about, after, against, + almost, X altogether, among, X as, at, before, between, (here-)by (+ all means), for (… sake of), + give self wholly to, (here-)in(-to, -wardly), X mightily, (because) of, (up-)on, (open-)ly, X outwardly, one, X quickly, X shortly, (speedi-)ly, X that, X there(-in, -on), through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), under, when, where(-with), while, with(-in). Often used in compounds, with substantially the same import; rarely with verbs of motion, and then not to indicate direction, except (elliptically) by a separate (and different) preposition.
  • G2222 — ζωή (zōḗ, dzo-ay'): from ζάω (záō) G2198; life (literally or figuratively); life(-time). Compare ψυχή (psychḗ) G5590.
  • G2920 — κρίσις (krísis, kree'-sis): decision (subjectively or objectively, for or against); by extension, a tribunal; by implication, justice (especially, divine law); accusation, condemnation, damnation, judgment
  • G3754 — ὅτι (hóti, hot'-ee): neuter of ὅστις (hóstis) G3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because; as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why
  • G5014 — ταπείνωσις (tapeínōsis, tap-i'-no-sis): from ταπεινόω (tapeinóō) G5013; depression (in rank or feeling); humiliation, be made low, low estate, vile
  • G5101 — τίς (tís, tis): probably emphatic of τὶς (tìs) G5100; an interrogative pronoun, who, which or what (in direct or indirect questions); every man, how (much), + no(-ne, thing), what (manner, thing), where (-by, -fore, -of, -unto, - with, -withal), whether, which, who(-m, -se), why
