In composition it retains many of these applications, and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity.

  • G4048 — περιῤῥήγνυμι (perirrhḗgnymi, per-ir-hrayg'-noo-mee): from περί (perí) G4012 and ῥήγνυμι (rhḗgnymi) G4486; to tear all around, i.e. completely away; rend off
  • G4463 — ῥαβδίζω (rhabdízō, hrab-did'-zo): from ῥάβδος (rhábdos) G4464; to strike with a stick, i.e. bastinado; beat (with rods)
  • G4755 — στρατηγός (stratēgós, strat-ay-gos'): from the base of στρατιά (stratiá) G4756 and ἄγω (ágō) G71 or ἡγέομαι (hēgéomai) G2233; a general, i.e. (by implication or analogy) a (military) governor (prætor), the chief (præfect) of the (Levitical) temple-wardens; captain, magistrate
