← Acts 11:7 Acts 11:8 (KJV) Acts 11:9 →
And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

  • G2036 — ἔπω (épō, ep'-o): a primary verb (used only in the definite past tense, the others being borrowed from ἐρέω (eréō) G2046, ῥέω (rhéō) G4483, and φημί (phēmí) G5346); to speak or say (by word or writing); answer, bid, bring word, call, command, grant, say (on), speak, tell. Compare λέγω (légō) G3004.
  • G2228 — ἤ (ḗ, ay): a primary particle of distinction between two connected terms; disjunctive, or; comparative, than; and, but (either), (n-)either, except it be, (n-)or (else), rather, save, than, that, what, yea. • G3763 — οὐδέποτε (oudépote, oo-dep'-ot-eh): from οὐδέ (oudé) G3761 and ποτέ (poté) G4218; not even at any time, i.e. never at all; neither at any time, never, nothing at any time
  • G3956 — πᾶς (pâs, pas): including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole; all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever
  • G4750 — στόμα (stóma, stom'-a): probably strengthened from a presumed derivative of the base of τομώτερος (tomṓteros) G5114; the mouth (as if a gash in the face); by implication, language (and its relations); figuratively, an opening (in the earth); specially, the front or edge (of a weapon); edge, face, mouth
