Romans 10:21
| ← Romans 10:20 | Romans 10:21 (KJV) | Romans 11:1 → |
|---|---|---|
But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
|
But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
|
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin.

- G483 — ἀντιλέγω (antilégō, an-til'-eg-o): from ἀντί and λέγω; to dispute, refuse:--answer again, contradict, deny, gainsay(-er), speak against.
- G544 — ἀπειθέω (apeithéō, ap-i-theh'-o): from ἀπειθής; to disbelieve (wilfully and perversely):--not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving.
- G1161 — δέ (dé, deh): a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).
- G1600 — ἐκπετάννυμι (ekpetánnymi, ek-pet-an'-noo-mee): from ἐκ and a form of πέτομαι; to fly out, i.e. (by analogy) to extend:--stretch forth.
- G2250 — ἡμέρα (hēméra, hay-mer'-ah): feminine (with ὥρα implied) of a derivative of (to sit; akin to the base of ἑδραῖος) meaning tame, i.e. gentle; day, i.e. (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively, a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context):--age, + alway, (mid-)day (by day, (-ly)), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years.
- G2474 — Ἰσραήλ (Israḗl, is-rah-ale'): of Hebrew origin (יִשְׂרָאֵל); Israel (i.e. Jisrael), the adopted name of Jacob, including his descendants (literally or figuratively):--Israel.
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.
- G2992 — λαός (laós, lah-os'): apparently a primary word; a people (in general; thus differing from δῆμος, which denotes one's own populace):--people.
- G3004 — λέγω (légō, leg'-o): a primary verb; properly, to "lay" forth, i.e. (figuratively) relate (in words (usually of systematic or set discourse; whereas ἔπω and φημί generally refer to an individual expression or speech respectively; while ῥέω is properly to break silence merely, and λαλέω means an extended or random harangue)); by implication, to mean:--ask, bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, say(-ing, on), shew, speak, tell, utter.
- G3450 — μοῦ (moû, moo): the simpler form of ἐμοῦ; of me:--I, me, mine (own), my.
- G3650 — ὅλος (hólos, hol'-os): a primary word; "whole" or "all", i.e. complete (in extent, amount, time or degree), especially (neuter) as noun or adverb:--all, altogether, every whit, + throughout, whole.
- G4314 — πρός (prós, pros): a strengthened form of πρό; a preposition of direction; forward to, i.e. toward (with the genitive case, the side of, i.e. pertaining to; with the dative case, by the side of, i.e. near to; usually with the accusative case, the place, time, occasion, or respect, which is the destination of the relation, i.e. whither or for which it is predicated):--about, according to , against, among, at, because of, before, between, (where-)by, for, X at thy house, in, for intent, nigh unto, of, which pertain to, that, to (the end that), X together, to (you) -ward, unto, with(-in). In the comparative case, it denotes essentially the same applications, namely, motion towards, accession to, or nearness at.
- G5495 — χείρ (cheír, khire): perhaps from the base of χειμών in the sense of its congener the base of χάσμα (through the idea of hollowness for grasping); the hand (literally or figuratively (power); especially (by Hebraism) a means or instrument):--hand.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.
