Psalms 18:31

← Psalms 18:30 Psalms 18:31 (KJV) Psalms 18:32 →
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Strong's References
  • H430 — אֱלֹהִים (ʼĕlôhîym, el-o-heem'): plural of אֱלוֹהַּ (ʼĕlôwahh) H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative; angels, [idiom] exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), [idiom] (very) great, judges, [idiom] mighty.
  • H433 — אֱלוֹהַּ (ʼĕlôwahh, el-o'-ah): rarely (shortened) אֱלֹהַּ (ʼĕlôahh); probably prolonged (emphatic) from אֵל (ʼêl) H410; a deity or the Deity; God, god. See אֱלֹהִים (ʼĕlôhîym) H430.
  • H1107 — בִּלְעֲדֵי (bilʻădêy, bil-ad-ay'): or בַּלְעֲדֵי (balʻădêy); constructive plural from בַּל (bal) H1077 and עַד (ʻad) H5703, not till, i.e. (as preposition or adverb); except, without, besides; beside, not (in), save, without.
  • H2108 — זוּלָה (zûwlâh, zoo-law'): from זוּל (zûwl) H2107; probably scattering, i.e. removal; used adverbially, except; beside, but, only, save.
  • H3068 — יְהֹוָה (Yᵉhôvâh, yeh-ho-vaw'): from הָיָה (hâyâh) H1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God; Jehovah, the Lord. Compare יָהּ (Yâhh) H3050, יְהֹוִה (Yᵉhôvih) H3069.
  • H6697 — צוּר (tsûwr, tsoor): or צֻר (tsur); from צוּר (tsûwr) H6696; properly, a cliff (or sharp rock, as compressed); generally, a rock or boulder; figuratively, a refuge; also an edge (as precipitous); edge, [idiom] (mighty) God (one), rock, [idiom] sharp, stone, [idiom] strength, [idiom] strong. See also בֵּית צוּר (Bêyth Tsûwr) H1049.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H3588 — כִּי (kîy, kee): a primitive particle (the full form of the prepositional prefix) indicating causal relations of all kinds, antecedent or consequent; (by implication) very widely used as a relative conjunction or adverb (as below); often largely modified by other particles annexed; and, + (forasmuch, inasmuch, where-) as, assured(-ly), + but, certainly, doubtless, + else, even, + except, for, how, (because, in, so, than) that, + nevertheless, now, rightly, seeing, since, surely, then, therefore, + (al-) though, + till, truly, + until, when, whether, while, whom, yea, yet.
  • H4310 — מִי (mîy, me): an interrogative pronoun of persons, as מָה (mâh) H4100 is of things; who? (occasionally, by a peculiar idiom, of things); also (indefinitely) whoever; often used in oblique construction with prefix or suffix; any (man), [idiom] he, [idiom] him, [phrase] O that! what, which, who(-m, -se, -soever), [phrase] would to God.
