Mark 5:29
| ← Mark 5:28 | Mark 5:29 (KJV) | Mark 5:30 [words of Jesus] → |
|---|---|---|
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
|
And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
|
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Strong's References
- G129 — αἷμα (haîma, hah'-ee-mah): of uncertain derivation; blood, literally (of men or animals), figuratively (the juice of grapes) or specially (the atoning blood of Christ); by implication, bloodshed, also kindred; blood
- G575 — ἀπό (apó, apo'): a primary particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative); (X here-)after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space of), for(-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-)on(-ce), since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc.
- G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.
- G1097 — γινώσκω (ginṓskō, ghin-oce'-ko): a prolonged form of a primary verb; to "know" (absolutely) in a great variety of applications and with many implications (as follow, with others not thus clearly expressed); allow, be aware (of), feel, (have) know(-ledge), perceived, be resolved, can speak, be sure, understand
- G2112 — εὐθέως (euthéōs, yoo-theh'-oce): adverb from εὐθύς (euthýs) G2117; directly, i.e. at once or soon; anon, as soon as, forthwith, immediately, shortly, straightway
- G2390 — ἰάομαι (iáomai, ee-ah'-om-ahee): middle voice of apparently a primary verb; to cure (literally or figuratively); heal, make whole
- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
- G3148 — μάστιξ (mástix, mas'-tix): probably from the base of μασσάομαι (massáomai) G3145 (through the idea of contact); a whip (literally, the Roman flagellum for criminals; figuratively, a disease); plague, scourging
- G3583 — ξηραίνω (xēraínō, xay-rah'-ee-no): from ξηρός (xērós) G3584; to desiccate; by implication, to shrivel, to mature; dry up, pine away, be ripe, wither (away)
- G3754 — ὅτι (hóti, hot'-ee): neuter of ὅστις (hóstis) G3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because; as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why
- G4077 — πηγή (pēgḗ, pay-gay'): probably from πήγνυμι (pḗgnymi) G4078 (through the idea of gushing plumply); a fount (literally or figuratively), i.e. source or supply (of water, blood, enjoyment) (not necessarily the original spring); fountain, well
- G4983 — σῶμα (sōma, so'-mah): from σώζω (sṓzō) G4982; the body (as a sound whole), used in a very wide application, literally or figuratively; bodily, body, slave
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom); the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc
