Mark 4:40
| ← Mark 4:39 [words of Jesus] | Mark 4:40 (KJV) [words of Jesus] | Mark 4:41 → |
|---|---|---|
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
|
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
|
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

- G3779 — οὕτω (hoútō, hoo'-to): adverb from οὗτος (hoûtos) G3778; in this way (referring to what precedes or follows); after that, after (in) this manner, as, even (so), for all that, like(-wise), no more, on this fashion(-wise), so (in like manner), thus, what
- G4102 — πίστις (pístis, pis'-tis): from πείθω (peíthō) G3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself; assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity

- G5101 — τίς (tís, tis): probably emphatic of τὶς (tìs) G5100; an interrogative pronoun, who, which or what (in direct or indirect questions); every man, how (much), + no(-ne, thing), what (manner, thing), where (-by, -fore, -of, -unto, - with, -withal), whether, which, who(-m, -se), why
