Strong's References
- H376 — אִישׁ (ʼîysh, eesh): contracted for אֱנוֹשׁ (ʼĕnôwsh) H582 (or perhaps rather from an unused root meaning to be extant); a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation); also, another, any (man), a certain, [phrase] champion, consent, each, every (one), fellow, (foot-, husband-) man, (good-, great, mighty) man, he, high (degree), him (that is), husband, man(-kind), [phrase] none, one, people, person, [phrase] steward, what (man) soever, whoso(-ever), worthy. Compare אִשָּׁה (ʼishshâh) H802.
- H702 — אַרְבַּע (ʼarbaʻ, ar-bah'): masculine אַרְבָּעָה (ʼarbâʻâh); from רָבַע (râbaʻ) H7251; four; four.
- H1241 — בָּקָר (bâqâr, baw-kawr'): from בָּקַר (bâqar) H1239; beef cattle or an animal of the ox family of either gender (as used for plowing); collectively, a herd; beeve, bull ([phrase] -ock), [phrase] calf, [phrase] cow, great (cattle), [phrase] heifer, herd, kine, ox.
- H1589 — גָּנַב (gânab, gaw-nab'): a primitive root; to thieve (literally or figuratively); by implication, to deceive; carry away, [idiom] indeed, secretly bring, steal (away), get by stealth.
- H2568 — חָמֵשׁ (châmêsh, khaw-maysh'): masculine חֲמִשָּׁה (chămishshâh); a primitive numeral; five; fif(-teen), fifth, five ([idiom] apiece).
- H2873 — טָבַח (ṭâbach, taw-bakh'): a primitive root; to slaughter (animals or men); kill, (make) slaughter, slay.
- H4376 — מָכַר (mâkar, maw-kar'): a primitive root; to sell, literally (as merchandise, a daughter in marriage, into slavery), or figuratively (to surrender); [idiom] at all, sell (away, -er, self).
- H6629 — צֹאן (tsôʼn, tsone): or צאוֹן (tsʼôwn); (Psalm 144:13), from an unused root meaning to migrate; a collective name for a flock (of sheep or goats); also figuratively (of men); (small) cattle, flock ([phrase] -s), lamb ([phrase] -s), sheep(-cote, -fold, -shearer, -herds).
- H7716 — שֶׂה (seh, seh): or שֵׂי (sêy); probably from שָׁאָה (shâʼâh) H7582 through the idea of pushing out to graze; a member of a flock, i.e. a sheep or goat; (lesser, small) cattle, ewe, goat, lamb, sheep. Compare זֶה (zeh) H2089.
- H7794 — שׁוֹר (shôwr, shore): from שׁוּר (shûwr) H7788; a bullock (as a traveller); bull(-ock), cow, ox, wall (by mistake for שׁוּר (shûwr) H7791).
- H7999 — שָׁלַם (shâlam, shaw-lam'): a primitive root; to be safe (in mind, body or estate); figuratively, to be (causatively, make) completed; by implication, to be friendly; by extension, to reciprocate (in various applications); make amends, (make an) end, finish, full, give again, make good, (re-) pay (again), (make) (to) (be at) peace(-able), that is perfect, perform, (make) prosper(-ous), recompense, render, requite, make restitution, restore, reward, [idiom] surely.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- H176 — אוֹ (ʼôw, o): presumed to be the 'constructive' or genitival form of אַו (ʼav) ; short for אַוָּה (ʼavvâh) H185; desire (and so probably in Proverbs 31:4); hence (by way of alternative) or, also if; also, and, either, if, at the least, [idiom] nor, or, otherwise, then, whether.
- H3588 — כִּי (kîy, kee): a primitive particle (the full form of the prepositional prefix) indicating causal relations of all kinds, antecedent or consequent; (by implication) very widely used as a relative conjunction or adverb (as below); often largely modified by other particles annexed; and, + (forasmuch, inasmuch, where-) as, assured(-ly), + but, certainly, doubtless, + else, even, + except, for, how, (because, in, so, than) that, + nevertheless, now, rightly, seeing, since, surely, then, therefore, + (al-) though, + till, truly, + until, when, whether, while, whom, yea, yet.
- H8478 — תַּחַת (tachath, takh'-ath): from the same as תּוֹחַ (Tôwach) H8430; the bottom (as depressed); only adverbially, below (often with prepositional prefix underneath), in lieu of, etc.; as, beneath, [idiom] flat, in(-stead), (same) place (where...is), room, for...sake, stead of, under, [idiom] unto, [idiom] when...was mine, whereas, (where-) fore, with.
