- H3389 — יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם (Yᵉrûwshâlaim, yer-oo-shaw-lah'-im): rarely יְרוּשָׁלַיִם (Yᵉrûwshâlayim); a dual (in allusion to its two main hills (the true pointing, at least of the former reading, seems to be that of יְרוּשָׁלֵם (Yᵉrûwshâlêm) H3390)); probably from (the passive participle of) יָרָה (yârâh) H3384 and שָׁלַם (shâlam) H7999; founded peaceful; Jerushalaim or Jerushalem, the capital city of Palestine; Jerusalem.
- H3920 — לָכַד (lâkad, law-kad'): a primitive root; to catch (in a net, trap or pit); generally, to capture or occupy; also to choose (by lot); figuratively, to cohere; [idiom] at all, catch (self), be frozen, be holden, stick together, take.
- H4694 — מְצוּרָה (mᵉtsûwrâh, mets-oo-raw'): or מְצֻרָה (mᵉtsurâh); feminine of מָצוֹר (mâtsôwr) H4692; a hemming in, i.e. (objectively) a mound (of siege), or (subjectively) a rampart (of protection), (abstractly) fortification; fenced (city, fort, munition, strong hold.
- H5892 — עִיר (ʻîyr, eer): or (in the plural) עָר (ʻâr); or עָיַר (ʻâyar); (Judges 10:4), from עוּר (ʻûwr) H5782; a city (a place guarded by waking or a watch) in the widest sense (even of a mere encampment or post); Ai (from margin), city, court (from margin), town.
The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:
- H834 — אֲשֶׁר (ʼăsher, ash-er'): a primitive relative pronoun (of every gender and number); who, which, what, that; also (as an adverb and a conjunction) when, where, how, because, in order that, etc.; [idiom] after, [idiom] alike, as (soon as), because, [idiom] every, for, [phrase] forasmuch, [phrase] from whence, [phrase] how(-soever), [idiom] if, (so) that ((thing) which, wherein), [idiom] though, [phrase] until, [phrase] whatsoever, when, where ([phrase] -as, -in, -of, -on, -soever, -with), which, whilst, [phrase] whither(-soever), who(-m, -soever, -se). As it is indeclinable, it is often accompanied by the personal pronoun expletively, used to show the connection.
- H853 — אֵת (ʼêth, ayth): apparent contracted from אוֹת (ʼôwth) H226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely); (as such unrepresented in English).
- H5704 — עַד (ʻad, ad): properly, the same as עַד (ʻad) H5703 (used as a preposition, adverb or conjunction; especially with a preposition); as far (or long, or much) as, whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while, until) or degree (equally with); against, and, as, at, before, by (that), even (to), for(-asmuch as), (hither-) to, [phrase] how long, into, as long (much) as, (so) that, till, toward, until, when, while, ([phrase] as) yet.
