← Matthew 26:17 Matthew 26:18 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Matthew 26:19 →
Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

  • G1170 — δεῖνα (deîna, di'-nah): probably from the same as δεινῶς (deinōs) G1171 (through the idea of forgetting the name as fearful, i.e. strange); so and so (when the person is not specified); such a man
  • G1320 — διδάσκαλος (didáskalos, did-as'-kal-os): from διδάσκω (didáskō) G1321; an instructor (genitive case or specially); doctor, master, teacher
  • G1451 — ἐγγύς (engýs, eng-goos'): from a primary verb ἄγχω (ánchō) (to squeeze or throttle; akin to the base of ἀγκάλη (ankálē) G43); near (literally or figuratively, of place or time); from , at hand, near, nigh (at hand, unto), ready
  • G1519 — εἰς (eis, ice): a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases; (abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, + continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, + perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with.
