- H4057 — מִדְבָּר (midbâr, mid-bawr'): from דָבַר (dâbar) H1696 in the sense of driving; a pasture (i.e. open field, whither cattle are driven); by implication, a desert; also speech (including its organs); desert, south, speech, wilderness.
- H5045 — נֶגֶב (negeb, neh'-gheb): from an unused root meaning to be parched; the south (from its drought); specifically, the Negeb or southern district of Judah, occasionally, Egypt (as south to Palestine); south (country, side, -ward).
- H6160 — עֲרָבָה (ʻărâbâh, ar-aw-baw'): from עָרַב (ʻârab) H6150 (in the sense of sterility); a desert; especially (with the article prefix) the (generally) sterile valley of the Jordan and its continuation to the Red Sea; Arabah, champaign, desert, evening, heaven, plain, wilderness. See also בֵּית הָעֲרָבָה (Bêyth hâ-ʻĂrâbâh) H1026.
