John 20:7
| ← John 20:6 | John 20:7 (KJV) | John 20:8 → |
|---|---|---|
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
|
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
|
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

- G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. - G1794 — ἐντυλίσσω (entylíssō, en-too-lis'-so): from ἐν (en) G1722 and τυλίσσω (tylíssō) (to twist; probably akin to εἱλίσσω (heilíssō) G1507); to entwine, i.e. wind up in; wrap in (together)
- G1909 — ἐπί (epí, ep-ee'): a primary preposition; properly, meaning superimposition (of time, place, order, etc.), as a relation of distribution (with the genitive case), i.e. over, upon, etc.; of rest (with the dative case) at, on, etc.; of direction (with the accusative case) towards, upon, etc.; about (the times), above, after, against, among, as long as (touching), at, beside, X have charge of, (be-, (where-))fore, in (a place, as much as, the time of, -to), (because) of, (up-)on (behalf of), over, (by, for) the space of, through(-out), (un-)to(-ward), with. In compounds it retains essentially the same import, at, upon, etc. (literally or figuratively).

- G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet

- G3326 — μετά (metá, met-ah'): a primary preposition (often used adverbially); properly, denoting accompaniment; "amid" (local or causal); modified variously according to the case (genitive association, or accusative succession) with which it is joined; occupying an intermediate position between ἀπό (apó) G575 or ἐκ (ek) G1537 and εἰς (eis) G1519 or πρός (prós) G4314; less intimate than ἐν (en) G1722 and less close than σύν (sýn) G4862); after(-ward), X that he again, against, among, X and, + follow, hence, hereafter, in, of, (up-)on, + our, X and setting, since, (un-)to, + together, when, with (+ -out).
