Jeremiah 28:2

← Jeremiah 28:1 Jeremiah 28:2 (KJV) Jeremiah 28:3 →
And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD'S house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:

  • H3478 — יִשְׂרָאֵל (Yisrâʼêl, yis-raw-ale'): from שָׂרָה (sârâh) H8280 and אֵל (ʼêl) H410; he will rule as God; Jisrael, a symbolical name of Jacob; also (typically) of his posterity; Israel.
  • H4428 — מֶלֶךְ (melek, meh'-lek): from מָלַךְ (mâlak) H4427; a king; king, royal.

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Hebrew (Westminster Leningrad Codex) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • H853 — אֵת (ʼêth, ayth): apparent contracted from אוֹת (ʼôwth) H226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely); (as such unrepresented in English).
  • H3541 — כֹּה (kôh, ko): from the prefix k and הוּא (hûwʼ) H1931; properly, like this, i.e. by implication, (of manner) thus (or so); also (of place) here (or hither); or (of time) now; also, here, + hitherto, like, on the other side, so (and much), such, on that manner, (on) this (manner, side, way, way and that way), + mean while, yonder.
