Mark 12:8

← Mark 12:7 [words of Jesus] Mark 12:8 (KJV) [words of Jesus] Mark 12:9 [words of Jesus] →
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

Strong's References
  • G290 — ἀμπελών (ampelṓn, am-pel-ohn'): from ἄμπελος (ámpelos) G288; a vineyard; vineyard
  • G615 — ἀποκτείνω (apokteínō, ap-ok-ti'-no): from ἀπό (apó) G575 and κτείνω (kteínō) (to slay); to kill outright; figuratively, to destroy; put to death, kill, slay
  • G846 — αὐτός (autós, ow-tos'): from the particle αὖ (aû) (perhaps akin to the base of ἀήρ (aḗr) G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative ἑαυτοῦ (heautoû) G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons; her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare αὑτοῦ (hautoû) G848.
  • G1544 — ἐκβάλλω (ekbállō, ek-bal'-lo): from ἐκ (ek) G1537 and βάλλω (bállō) G906; to eject (literally or figuratively); bring forth, cast (forth, out), drive (out), expel, leave, pluck (pull, take, thrust) out, put forth (out), send away (forth, out)
  • G1854 — ἔξω (éxō, ex'-o): adverb from ἐκ (ek) G1537; out(-side, of doors), literally or figuratively; away, forth, (with-)out (of, -ward), strange
  • G2532 — καί (kaí, kahee): apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words; and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet
  • G2983 — λαμβάνω (lambánō, lam-ban'-o): a prolonged form of a primary verb, which is use only as an alternate in certain tenses; to take (in very many applications, literally and figuratively (properly objective or active, to get hold of; whereas δέχομαι (déchomai) G1209 is rather subjective or passive, to have offered to one; while αἱρέομαι (hairéomai) G138 is more violent, to seize or remove)); accept, + be amazed, assay, attain, bring, X when I call, catch, come on (X unto), + forget, have, hold, obtain, receive (X after), take (away, up)

The following Strong's numbers are referenced in the Greek (Textus Receptus, Scrivener 1894) text but were not explicitly tagged in the KJV source:

  • G3588 — ὁ (ho, ho): the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom); the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc
